Resonant Signal Reversal in a Waveguide Using a Resonator
摘要
Abstract
It is proved that, when connecting two infinite semi-cylinders or waveguides to a finite cylinder or a cavity, the incident wave at a certain frequency can be transmitted almost completely from one semi-cylinder to the other, in which it propagates in the opposite direction. In this case, the reflected field in the first cylinder can be arbitrarily small. The proof uses a technique based on expanding the solution in a Fourier series in the cylinders and matching the series for the signal and its derivatives at the interfaces of cylinders of different radii. The main feature of this method is its simplicity, making it possible to establish resonant scattering effects for a specific class of interfaces of primary practical interest.
