<p>Methodological issues related to the study of laminar-turbulent transition in subsonic boundary layers using infrared video recording are considered. A method for estimating wall friction based on the analysis of the temperature variation of a preheated model surface is proposed. An improved method for finding the lines of transition onset and completion is proposed.</p>
