Influence of a sweeping jet on the flow structure in a slot channel with flow blockage
摘要
Blockage of a subchannel is a potential accident scenario in liquid-metal fast breeder reactors. Understanding the flow behavior near blockage sites is therefore extremely important. This paper experimentally investigates the effect of an external sweeping jet on the flow structure in a slot channel downstream of a flow blockage. It is shown that the region of influence of the sweeping jet on the flow pattern is limited. Spectral analysis reveals that the meandering frequency and the frequency of vortex structure propagation in the slot channel correspond to a Strouhal number of 0.143. The results obtained in the absence of external are consistent with data reported by other authors.
