Abstract

Critical remarks are given to the article “New data on the Late Paleozoic conglomerates of Wrangel Island and their geological interpretation” by M.I. Tuchkova et al. published in the Stratigraphy and Geological Correlation journal (vol. 33, no. 2. pp. 59–80, 2025). Doubts are expressed about using the ‘tectonostratigraphic units’ term in the geological mapping of the island instead of formations and strata. It is concluded that, in terms of paleogeography, the Late Paleozoic De Long basin had closer links with the Verkhoyansk‒Kolyma basins than with the Canadian Arctic ones.
