Sources, Cyclicity, and Age of the Neoproterozoic Sedimentary Rocks of the Patom Basin of Siberia
摘要
Abstract
A geochemical method is used to assess the continuous accumulation of Neoproterozoic sedimentary successions of the Patom Basin in the structure of the Teptorga, Dal’nyaya Taiga, and Zhuya groups, as well as the overlying Zherba Formation. On the basis of the continuous change in the composition of provenances and the analysis of higher order cyclicity, we reconsidered a stratigraphic volume of the Patom Supergroup within the Ediacaran. The evolution of the Patom Basin is reviewed with emphasis on stratigraphically significant episodes of its sedimentary record.
