Effect of Short-Term Isolation in Small-Volume Sealed Chamber on Subclinical Reactivation of Latent Human Pathogens of Viral and Bacterial Origin

The article presents a study of subclinical reactivation of 7 human herpesviruses, as well as the bacteria Mycoplasma hominis, Ureaplasma urealiticum and Chlamydia trachomatis in 6 participants of 14-day isolation study conducted in a small-volume sealed chamber with controlled environment. The correlations between DNA level of latent pathogens of viral and bacterial origin in biological body fluids and indicators of the innate and adaptive immunity were analyzed. It has been established that a short-term stay of a person in a small-volume sealed chamber can lead to the reactivation of latent pathogens of not only viral but also bacterial origin. Such manifestations may be associated with a change in the immune status of a person and, as a result, a decrease in the immunological control of latent infections. The dynamics of the lytic cycle of latent infections during short-term isolation showed a high degree of individual variability.
