Abstract <p>A complex including SNOWPACK and an orographic precipitation model was validated using reanalysis data for Elbrus and Ushkovsky volcanoes. Comparison with ice core data demonstrated that the modeling complex can be used to simulate snowpack structure and snow accumulation over long time scales. Changes in ice formation patterns on Ushkovsky volcano over the past 40 years were analyzed.</p>
