Abstract <p>The article presents the results of a study of the relationship between the water hydrochemical composition and discharge based on measurement data at river gauging stations in Crimea taken from hydrological yearbooks. The closeness of the relationship was evaluated by Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. Based on the nature of the relationship between changes in the discharge and water chemistry, three groups of rivers with specific runoff formation patterns were identified: rivers with no relationship between water discharge and the sum of ions, hardness, and OM content; rivers with a relationship with the sum of ions, hardness, and OM content; and rivers with a relationship only with the sum of ions. The spatial differences in water composition were studied using the cluster analysis method based on survey data from the low-water period in July 2022 on the rivers in the southwestern part of Crimea. The study did not consider elements whose concentration may depend on anthropogenic factors (nitrate and phosphate content). Interbasin and intrabasin differences in water composition were revealed due to differences in the geological structure of the territory.</p>
