Sorption Separation of Niobium–Zirconium Cation Mixture
摘要
Abstract
This paper demonstrates for the first time the possibility of using sorption technologies for the separation of a mixture of radioactive niobium and zirconium cations, which are components of waste generated in the nuclear fuel cycle. The separation of these elements will significantly reduce the costs of waste disposal and also enable the reuse of zirconium ions. The ion separation process is studied in detail using the AV-17-8 anion exchanger. More efficient process condition for dynamic mode is selected and its mechanism is proposed.
