Abstract

The article presents a mathematical model of the lithium adsorption process in a packed column, taking into account the saturation of the sorbent with the absorbed component. The Langmuir model is used to assess the equilibrium in the system. Granular material is considered as the sorbent, based on the compound LiCl·2Al(OH)3·mH2O (DHAL-Cl). Calculations of the sorption column are carried out on the basis of finite differences in time and coordinate. The results of calculations of lithium extraction in a packed adsorber for various process conditions are presented, which demonstrate the efficiency of the adsorption extraction method. A conclusion is made about the prospects of practical application of the lithium adsorption process for certain ranges of its concentrations in solutions.
