Abstract <p>Using mechanical activation, zircon and (Zr,Ce)SiO<sub>4</sub> solid solutions were synthesized. Zirconium dioxide prepared from baddeleyite concentrate and silica extracted from copper–nickel slag were used as starting substances. The prospect of utilization of synthesized zircon for the immobilization of radioactive waste was assessed.</p>

Abstract

Using mechanical activation, zircon and (Zr,Ce)SiO4 solid solutions were synthesized.
