Anti-Icing Compositions Based on Urea and Propylene Glycol
摘要
Phase equilibria at temperatures of 0 to –60°C are studied in sections of the urea–propylene glycol–water system with urea to propylene glycol ratios of 3 : 1 to 1 : 3. It is found that the introduction of propylene glycol into the urea–water system makes it possible to obtain anti-icing compositions that are effective at temperatures below –11°C, down to temperatures of –35 to –40°C, with satisfactory melting capacity for ice. The compositions are promising for the development of anti-icing reagents on their basis.
