Abstract

Effect of the standard many-passage rolling (hot at 850°C with subsequent cold) and the rolling accompanied by pulsed electric current with a density 200 A/mm2 on the temperature interval of martensitic transformations and mechanical properties of Ti45.0Ni50.0Hf5.0 alloy manufactured by vacuum-arc remelting is studied. At the chosen modes of the standard rolling, 2.1-mm-thick plates in hot-rolled state and 1-mm-thick plates in cold-rolled state have been fabricated without macro- and microdefects. The final temperature of the reverse martensitic transformation of this alloy is 144°C, the ultimate strength 1430 MPa, and the hardness is 400 HV. The rolling with pulsed current allows one to increase the alloy plasticity resource to 40% without volume fractures, changes in mechanical properties; in this case, the final temperature of reverse martensitic transformation is 130°C.
