Thermochemistry of Dissolution of 5,10,15,20-Tetrakis(1'-methylpyrid-4-yl)porphyrin Tetratosylate at 298.15 K

Abstract
The water-soluble 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(1'-methylpyrid-4-yl)porphyrin tetratosylate was synthesized. The enthalpies of solution of crystalline porphyrin in water and aqueous KOH at 298.15 K were determined by direct calorimetry. The standard enthalpies of formation of porphyrin were calculated by the additive group method based on group systematics with Benson-type classification of fragments, in which the influence of the nearest-neighbor atoms is taken into account.
