Thermodynamics of Sorption of Cu(II) Cations from Aqueous Solutions by Hydrogel Sorbents Based on Cross-Linked Chitosan
摘要
The dependence of the sorption characteristics of heavy metal sorbents based on cross-linked chitosan hydrogel on the temperature parameters of the “aqueous copper sulfate solution–chitosan-based sorbent” heterophase system was studied in detail. The most important sorption characteristics were calculated from the experimental data on the static sorption of Cu(II) ions using various approaches and theories (Langmuir, Freundlich, and micropore volume filling theory (MVFT)). Using the calculated thermodynamic potentials, it was determined that the sorption of copper cations is endothermic and characterized by sequential thermodynamically spontaneous filling of the sorption volume of the interphase and active sorption sites of the sorbent samples.
