Abstract <p>The heat capacity of magnesium–neodymium hexaaluminate NdMgAl<sub>11</sub>O<sub>19</sub> with a magnetoplumbite structure was measured by relaxation, adiabatic, and differential scanning calorimetry in the temperature range 2–1850 K. The data were smoothed after matching the temperature dependences of heat capacity obtained by different methods. The thermodynamic functions (entropy and change of enthalpy) were calculated, and the anomalous Schottky heat capacity in the low temperature region was estimated.</p>
