Abstract

Micromorphic brachiopods of the superfamily Lambdarinoidea (order Rhynchonellida) were discovered for the first time in the Upper Tournaisian (Lower Carboniferous) beds on the left bank of the Vangyr River, in the southern part of the Chernyshev Rise (Komi Republic, northeast of European Russia). Of these, a new species Lambdarina vangyrika Pakhnevich et Sobolev sp. nov. was described. The brachiopods discovered also include a new genus and species Lambdarininae gen. et sp. nov., which could not be described due to a lack of material. A wider distribution of representatives of the superfamily Lambdarinoidea in the Lower Carboniferous deposits was revealed.
