摘要

Abstract

A species of the genus Tainoceras (order Nautilida, family Tainoceratidae) is described for the first time from the Lower Carboniferous (Serpukhovian Stage, Protvian Regional Substage) of the Moscow Syneclise. Until now, the earliest records of this genus were known from the Middle Carboniferous of North America, while the only species of this genus recorded on the Russian Plate was T. trautsholdi (Waagen, 1879) from the Gzhelian Stage. A new species Tainoceras vashutinense sp. nov. is described. The new find expands the known stratigraphic and geographic range of this nautilid genus.
