摘要

Abstract

The data on alkaline phosphatase activity (APA) in Lake Baikal bays (Mukhor and Chivyrkuy) are presented. In June 2023 and 2024, APA varied from 667 to 3206 nmol/(L day), i.e., it was an order of magnitude higher than the values for the lake pelagic stations. To assess the contribution of bacterioplankton to APA, the following size fractions were studied: phytoplankton (>5 μm), picoplankton (1.2–5 μm), and bacterioplankton (0.2–1.2 μm). The share of bacterioplankton in the total APA was shown to be 45–56%, except for the Mukhor Bay in 2023, when its contribution was minimal (22%). In general, the share of bacterioplankton in APA was considerably higher then the values reported worldwide, which may be related to the uniqueness of the Lake Baikal ecosystem.
