A P-7 Incompatibility Group Plasmid Controls Non-Specific Tetracycline Resistance of the Host Strain
摘要
Abstract—
The conjugative plasmid pD4A-46, belonging to the P-7 incompatibility group, obtained from an environmental Pseudomonas fluorescens strain, confers tetracycline resistance to the host cells. However, no known tetracycline resistance genes were found in pD4A-46. Potential tetracycline resistance determinants within the pD4A-46 plasmid were investigated by analyzing the expression levels in P. putida KT2442 (pD4A-46) cells grown with and without tetracycline. The results of this analysis identified putative genes that function as tetracycline resistance determinants.
