The Whole Genome Sequencing Analysis of a Halophilic Streptomyces sp. C11-1

The complete genome sequence of a new halophilic Streptomyces sp. C11-1 was revealed and analyzed. This strain was isolated from Dabancheng Salt Lake in Xinjiang, China. It has strong antibacterial activity against drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis strains. The linear whole genome length of strain C11-1 was 7296298 bp, and the G+C content was 71.38%. It contained 6402 protein-coding genes (CDS), 18 rRNA genes, 71 tRNA genes, and 34 ncRNA genes. Of these, 5534, 2310, and 4383 CDS were functionally annotated in the COG, KEGG, and GO databases, respectively. Thirty secondary metabolite synthesis gene clusters were predicted by the antiSMASH software, of which 21 gene clusters had sequence similarity between 1 and 90% with known gene clusters, and four gene clusters could not match any known gene clusters. The ANI analysis showed that strain C11-1 has the highest ANI value (89.37%) with Streptomyces anulatus JCM 4721.
