Growth of Bulk β-BBO Crystals in the BaB2O4–NaBaBO3–Bi2O3 System

Abstract
The initial crystallization region of the low-temperature non-centrosymmetric modification of barium borate β-ΒaΒ2O4 (β-BBO) in the ΒaΒ2O4–NaBaBO3–Bi2O3 system is determined by powder X-ray diffraction, visual polythermal analysis, and solid phase synthesis. Bulk BBO sing crystals are grown by solution-melt crystallization. The obtained results demonstrate the promising application of compositions of this system as solvents for the BBO crystal growth.
