Abstract <p>New cluster complex (Bu<sub>4</sub>N)<sub>2</sub>[{Mo<sub>6</sub>I<sub>8</sub>}(CN)<sub>4</sub>(N<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub>]·2H<sub>2</sub>O is obtained by the reaction of (Bu<sub>4</sub>N)<sub>2</sub>[{Mo<sub>6</sub>I<sub>8</sub>}(CN)<sub>4</sub>(OMe)<sub>2</sub>] with NaN<sub>3</sub> in a water-ethanol solution and subsequent crystallization. The structure of this compound is determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The stability of the complex in an aqueous solution and its luminescent properties are studied.</p>

Abstract

New cluster complex (Bu4N)2[{Mo6I8}(CN)4(N3)2]·2H2O is obtained by the reaction of (Bu4N)2[{Mo6I8}(CN)4(OMe)2] with NaN3 in a water-ethanol solution and subsequent crystallization. The structure of this compound is determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The stability of the complex in an aqueous solution and its luminescent properties are studied.
