Skeletal Muscle Na,K-ATPase: Molecular Heterogeneity, Specialized Localization, Interactions, Regulation and Functions
摘要
Abstract
Molecular heterogeneity of receptors, ion channels, transportand other proteins is one of the bases for their functional diversity. The localization of different molecular forms of the protein inspatially distinct subcellular compartments with specialized interactionswith the molecular environment also significantly expands theirfunctional spectrum. This review illustrates the progress of researchin this area using the example of the molecular and functional diversityof the vital transport protein Na,K-ATPase (NKA) in skeletal muscle. The review is based on an analysis of the accumulated literatureand summarizes the results of studies in which the author has beendirectly involved over the past 25 years.
