Vacuum Deposition of Alq3 in a Permanent Electric Field
摘要
Abstract–
The effect of an electric field applied parallel to the substrate during vacuum deposition on the structure of thin films of aluminum tris(8-hydroxyquinalinate) Alq3, a popular organic emitter, was studied. Films deposited in the absence of an external field on a substrate cooled to –35°C are expected to exhibit spontaneous orientation polarization (SOP). The field effect manifests itself as the suppression of intermolecular interactions in the Alq3 films that lead to either aggregation or SOP. Due to this, the films deposited in an electrical field exhibit increased specific conductivity.
