Abstract <p>The possibilities of synthesizing carbon nanostructures in an arc discharge between graphite electrodes in kerosene with argon supply to the discharge region were studied. It is shown that the argon-hydrocarbon arc plasma in kerosene can be used to form and harden a linear chain of nanodiamonds with sizes from 40 to 100 nm<i>.</i></p>
