Abstract <p>The louse flies of the genus <i>Ornithoica</i> Rondani, 1878 are primarily tropical, and their occurrence in temperate regions is usually seasonal. There is currently a problem with the status of species and populations of <i>O. momiyamai</i> Kishida, 1932 and <i>O. bistativa</i> Maa, 1966. The relationship between <i>Ornithoica</i> populations from eastern Asia and from the Russian Far East also remains unexplored. Morphological and molecular features of <i>O. bistativa</i> specimens from southern Vietnam and <i>O. momiyamai</i> specimens from Primorskii Territory of Russia are discussed. Insignificant morphological and molecular differences between the populations allow considering them as subspecies <i>Ornithoica momiyamai momiyamai</i> <b>stat. n.</b> and <i>Ornithoica momiyamai bistativa</i> <b>stat. n.</b></p>
