A Simple Method for Predicting Detonation Pressure of Any Type of Explosive
摘要
This paper presents a new empirical method for predicting the detonation pressure (DP) of various types of organic and inorganic explosives. The method identifies detonation products based on the product that releases maximum heat per unit oxygen atom. The proposed model provides accurate and reliable estimates of detonation products compared to existing models. Using the identified detonation products, detonation variables like the number of moles of gaseous products (N), average molecular weight of gaseous products (Mavg), and maximum heat of detonation (Qdmax) were calculated. A power relationship between detonation parameter (Pard) and experimental DP values for different types of explosives was established. Unlike other models, the new model’s estimated detonation pressure aligns well with experimental values for organic and inorganic explosives. These results suggest that DP predictions from the new model are straightforward, accurate, and more dependable than those from existing models, thereby aiding the development of environmentally friendly, high-performance explosives in research and development.
