Abstract

Nitrogen oxides (NxOy) have long been the focus of extensive research due to their status as environmental pollutants. Beyond their ecological impact, however, these compounds are systems comprising both a fuel and an oxidizer component, classifying them as monopropellants. Such monopropellants are explosive, a critical factor that must be considered in explosion hazard assessments. We report key combustion and detonation parameters for the most common gaseous nitrogen oxides interacting with oxygen, providing essential data for safety evaluations.
