Abstract <p>In this paper we analyze morphometric parameters of cysts (resting eggs) of a parthenogenetic population of the halophilic crustacean <i>Artemia</i>, belonging to the polymorphic species <i>Artemia parthenogenetica</i>, collected in the waters of the Kara-Bogaz-Gol Bay of the Caspian Sea. Significant intrapopulation variability in the thickness of the cyst chorion and insignificant variability in the diameter of hydrated cysts and embryos was established. It is shown that a significant positive relationship exists between salinity and the studied biometric characteristics. The significant variability of the diameter of hydrated cysts and in the thickness of the chorion makes these morphological characteristics unsuitable for identifying this population; a smaller mean diameter of the embryo is a characteristic that distinguishes the Kara-Bogaz-Gol population of the crustacean from other parthenogenetic populations of <i>Artemia</i>. The range of known values of the thickness of the cyst chorion for parthenogenetic populations of <i>Artemia</i> has been expanded to the larger side.</p>
