The Nature of the 580-Year Cycle of Lunar and Solar Eclipses
摘要
Abstract
It is shown that the 580-year cycle of eclipses occurs due to modulation of the Saros cycle (18.03 tropical years) by the precession cycle of the Lunar orbit plane (18.61 years). Superposition of these two cycles generates the 580-year cycle of lunar and solar eclipses. A mathematical model of this cycle is constructed.
