Abstract <p>This article presents an analysis of the technogenically altered relief of the Balapan field of the Semipalatinsk test site (STS). Detailed information on the landscape and geological and hydrogeological conditions of the study area is given in the Interactive Atlas of the STS, posted on the website of the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Underground testing was carried out in wells. The Balapan field is located within a gently undulating plain, bounded from the south and west by the valley complex of the Chagan River. To identify technogenic and natural–technogenic landforms formed during underground testing, the visual interpretation of a mosaic of satellite images and a digital elevation model (DEM) was used. The main types of technogenic changes in the landscape of the plain are represented by ring structures: funnels with a diameter from a few meters to 320&#xa0;m, a system of linear structures up to 460 m in length, and their paragenesis of ring and linear natural–technogenic formations. The results of a comparison of postexplosive surface deformations within the test sites with data on the geological and geomorphological structure and tectonic zoning of the territory make it possible to rank the blocks of the Balapan field according to the degree of technogenic impact on the relief.</p>
