Organization of Tiltmeter Observation Points for Recording Deformations of the Earth’s Surface at Kamchatka Geodynamic Test Areas and Some Observation Results

A comprehensive description of geodynamic test areas with the installed equipment of the Kamchatka network of tiltmeter observation points is given. The data on geographical location, temperature regime, soil conditions, parameters of seismic chambers used for the organization of points, types of installed equipment, and features of power supply are presented. The characteristics of the equipment used in the network data registration and transmission system are described. The data obtained at the network stations in connection with the earthquake of August 17, 2024, Mw = 7.0, are discussed (in particular, amplitudes of coseismic changes (jumps) in the tilt of the Earth’s surface recorded at three stations: PET2, IVS2, and KRMT). After the earthquake, a bay-shaped tilt change with amplitudes of 8 and 4 μrad developed for 20 days in the E–W and N–S directions at the IVS2 station in relation with the following relaxation of the geoenvironment.
