摘要

Culture plays an essential role in achieving inclusive, safe, and sustainable contexts and constitutes a key pillar in the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals. In the context of digital transformation, the promotion and preservation of cultural activities—such as theatre—have been increasingly mediated by technological tools. This study aims to identify the factors that influence the acceptance of a theatre mobile application in the context of an emerging economy. To achieve this, a non-experimental quantitative study was conducted using a survey applied to a sample of 123 participants. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA) based on principal component extraction was performed to examine the underlying structure of the constructs and assess the internal consistency of the model. The results indicate that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are the most influential factors in the intention to adopt theatre-related mobile applications. The scientific novelty of this study lies in integrating the Technology Acceptance Model with a multidimensional understanding of cultural consumption, demonstrating that user adoption in cultural contexts is shaped not only by functional perceptions but also by experiential and symbolic dimensions. Additionally, the findings contribute to expanding technology adoption research in cultural and creative industries within emerging economies and provide practical insights for the design of digital strategies aimed at strengthening audience engagement and cultural participation.
