Exploring the sustainable development of regional culture by tourist souvenir design—development and application of Pingyao lacquerware tourism souvenir model
摘要
Despite the rapid growth of cultural tourism making souvenirs an increasingly important medium for disseminating regional culture, Pingyao lacquerware souvenirs generally lack distinct regional characteristics and insufficient cultural expression. The primary reason is the scarcity of professional designers in this field, with production relying on craftsmen who lack systematic training. This study aims to develop a souvenir model that helps practitioners balance cultural expression and design guidance by introducing a Pingyao regional culture module based on the CFBSS model. Through semi-structured interviews, the research systematically identified 6 dimensions and 19 sub-dimensions of Pingyao’s regional culture. Based on encoding-decoding theory, a three-layer regional cultural structure—macro, meso, and micro—was constructed to refine the original model. Subsequently, six experts validated the new model, and the results confirmed its effectiveness. The developed model not only provides systematic guidance for designers and craftsmen in the lacquerware field during the design process, promoting the effective expression of local cultural elements, but also provides a reference for the development of other intangible cultural heritage tourism souvenirs.
