<p>This paper develops a bioeconomic model to analyze the impact of nutrient concentration on a freshwater fishery in Lac Saint-Pierre. It considers both direct and indirect effects of nutrients on fish stock through submerged aquatic vegetation. Findings suggest that nutrient reduction policies should consider nitrogen-phosphorus ratios as a limiting factor in fish production. Numerical simulations show potential profit gains from nitrogen-phosphorus reduction&#xa0;of up to&#xa0;24.5% for Lac Saint-Pierre. The study emphasizes the importance of holistic environmental policies that account for complex interactions between nutrients, fish stock, and habitat quality to sustainably manage freshwater ecosystems and mitigate ecological disturbances caused by nutrient pollution.</p>
