摘要

Insider attacks have been a well-known problem in information security. These threats are attributed to legitimate users who abuse their privileges, and due to their familiarity and proximity to the computational environment, they can easily cause significant damage or losses. Inadvertent user actions or lack of awareness can create exploitable gaps in an organization’s security posture. Consequently, mitigating human factors has become an essential component of a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy. This research explores the significant role human factors play in network security. It highlights the impact of human errors, emphasizes the importance of security awareness training, and acknowledges the crucial role of human judgment in threat detection and response. Moreover, it delves into the challenge of insider threats, malicious activity by authorized users. It reveals limitations in current practices for addressing insider threats and emphasizes the need for organizations to prioritize mitigation strategies. This study also proposes a framework and mitigation techniques to identify and mitigate insider threats.
