<p>Computers are currently being replaced by mobile phones in all aspects pertaining to the use of digital technology. Partly, due to the proliferation of mobile phones and their use, cyber crimes, through mobile phones, are on the increase. Cyber crime laws are being enacted where they did not exist and amended where they exist. Deliberations on how well these acts may be defined and the key words that must be used in drafting these acts are among the issues of concern by cyber crime experts. The Tanzania’s Cyber Crime Act 2015 is one such law in which an important issue such as the explicit definition of “mobile phone” is missing. An analysis of this act along with other similar acts sheds light on the necessity to revisit this act and explicitly include the word “mobile phone” so as to improve the understanding of the Act and capacity for successful prosecutions.</p>
