<p>This article invites therapists to contemplate and discuss the use of the WhatsApp cellular communication platform that enhance therapeutic practice. We focus on clinical application, orientation and thought of the symbolic possibilities in the analytic space. The growing presence of cellular communication in our lives has aroused the need to discuss complex professional and ethical implications pertaining to clinical practice. Though there is widespread use of text messages in traditional treatment and private practice, knowledge of this phenomenon is scarce. In the absence of professional and accepted ethical guidelines pertaining to these situations, many professionals rely on healthy intuition and professional guidance, choose to consult with their peers, or learn from trial and error. This article explores the use of text messages in the therapeutic space and presents three therapeutic vignettes, which illustrate WhatsApp communications that supplement the psychotherapy hour. We demonstrate how analytical attention to the form and content of the platform is preserved and how this attention should from an anchor for the changing therapeutic landscape.</p>
