摘要

The primary aim of this essay is to reconstruct Mari Ruti’s psychoanalytically informed theory of the good life or the art of living, with special attention to three themes: the rewriting of fate, the transformation of loss into creativity, and the acceptance of transience. I further suggest that the thread that connects these three aspects of the good life is Ruti’s psychoanalytic understanding of amor fati, love of one’s fate.
