<p>The argument of this essay is that psychoanalysis as a decolonial practice addresses what hinders human possibility often in paradoxically disguised forms of society and the self, especially in efforts to purify both from outside and external forces. This applies, as well, at the metadisciplinary level, to psychoanalysis. Through an exploration of disciplinary decadence, this paper examines the extent to which colonialism, racism, and other forms of dehumanization reveal psychoanalysis’s therapeutic potential not only as a practice but also a form of theorizing.</p>
