Examining anxiety’s role in embracing digital payments: an empirical investigation
摘要
This study aims to investigate the role of anxiety in adopting digital payments. The survey was conducted among 450 individuals who used digital payments from Hyderabad (including all six zones), India and PLS-SEM were used to evaluate the hypotheses. The results of this study reveal that users’ perceived risk positively and significantly influences their anxiety while using digital payments. Subsequently, users’ anxiety negatively affects their effort expectancy, performance expectancy, attitude, perceived trust and behavioural intentions towards digital payments. In terms of mediation analysis, anxiety serves as a mediator between perceived risk and behavioural intentions. Additionally, attitude, effort expectancy, performance expectancy, and perceived trust mediate the relationship between anxiety and behavioural intentions.
