Preliminary assessment of the accountability practices of the European Ombudsman and the European court of auditors in the SSM
摘要
While the accountability of the single supervisory mechanism (SSM) toward the European Parliament, the Court of Justice and the Administrative Board of Review has been widely examined, other accountability forums have received less attention. More specifically, the role of the European Ombudsman and the European Court of Auditors remain scarcely addressed. This article provides an overview and assessment of the (limited) accountability practices of those accountability forums concerning the SSM. The article concludes that both accountability forums have similar challenges and opportunities to strengthen their role.
