Effects of airborne particulate exposure on aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage risk: brief communication

Exposure to airborne pollutants such as particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) can significantly affect public health through the initiation of deleterious inflammatory and oxidative cascades and has been linked to a variety of pathologies. We demonstrate a potential link between PM2.5 exposure and subsequent risk of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, a devastating neurovascular disease with high rates of morbidity and mortality, in a cyclically exposed population in the U.S. Intermountain West.
