Plant molecular farming for pharmaceuticals: the state of the art
摘要
Plant molecular farming is the use of plants and plant cell cultures to make recombinant proteins and other high value molecules that may be used as vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostic or other reagents. The technology is now nearly forty years old, yet has still not achieved significant market penetration despite increasing acceptance by regulatory bodies. Recent developments that may change this situation in the medium or long term are discussed.
