Nanoparticles and photosynthesis: a critical mechanistic review of molecular interactions and physiological impacts
摘要
Photosynthesis is highly sensitive to environmental stress, which can limit plant growth and crop productivity. Nanoparticles (NPs) present novel opportunities to enhance photosynthetic efficiency by influencing pigment synthesis, light-harvesting complexes, photosystem activity, electron transport, carbon fixation, and related gene expression. However, NP effects are highly dose- and context-dependent, necessitating a detailed mechanistic understanding and safe-by-design approaches to ensure their sustainable and environmentally responsible application in agriculture.
