The required public electric vehicle charger population in Scotland under different future scenarios
摘要
This paper estimates the required public electric vehicle (EV) charger population in Scotland under different 2030 scenarios to evaluate government targets. A trilemma is identified between the total population, technology and geographic accessibility of public chargers, including an exponential increase in required chargers as accessible-distance decreases. Results indicate government targets remain sufficient but strongly dependent on policy interventions (including the EV transition and car-use reduction) and the characterisation of ‘accessible’.
