The commercial determinants of maternal health
摘要
The burgeoning concept of the commercial determinants of health has not been applied specifically to mothers. We discuss this in terms of acts of both commission and omission. We make recommendations for an overarching ideology in which maternal health is valued as a shared societal responsibility, and bedrock of economic and societal prosperity. Central and cross-sectoral policies are needed to address this, alongside actions to engage individuals, families, and communities.
