<p>Riverbank erosion is a major natural calamity causing destruction to lives, settlements, and the environment. This study analyzes the socioeconomic impacts and migration patterns of communities affected by erosion. It identifies literature and policy gaps, proposing future research directions. After reviewing 62 papers from 2000–2024, the study highlights the neglected vulnerability of erosional migrants, who face significant economic and social challenges. It emphasizes the need for a better understanding of psychological, ecological, and demographic factors.</p>
