<p>The path to climate action pursued by local authorities is lined with micropolitical struggles and tactical games. The concept of micropolitics helps to better understand why local climate governance is a highly demanding endeavour, as it involves decision-making marked by competing interests and power imbalances. Aware of the existence of such dynamics, this paper offers new perspectives on an underestimated field of climate research.</p>
